This sunrise was taken in Ballground Georgia on December 31, 2012. Ballground is a small city in North Georgia approximately 1 hour north of Atlanta Georgia on Hwy 515. I was driving to work on the interstate and noticed a wonderful glow that I could not resist. I pulled over at Howell Bridge road off interstate 515 and drove to the top of the hill. Luckily I had my tripod, that I always carry, and was able to capture several photos of this beautiful morning. This is the 1st photo in a 4 part set of sunrises that was taken that morning. As the sun rose, the deep colors were very rich and saturated with a wide range of magnificent colors. The blue sky was starting to show very high, but the orange glow was still at the horizon. The very low light was reflecting off the clouds rendering a beautiful range of red and purple colors with multiple tones.
